Description Benefits Supplemental Questions
This position provides agency-wide technical support for all servers, printers, AS 400, personal computer hardware and software problems, 5250 emulation, local area network maintenance and support, Windows local area network maintenance and support, and project management for server and computer-related projects, upgrades and installation.
Examples of Work:
Develop and implement solutions for agency PC and AS 400 hardware and software including researching and making recommendations for purchases; perform maintenance, maintain inventory for all hardware and software, provide user support and training. Troubleshoot and maintain server hardware. Plans,manages and maintains agency servers and networked devices.Establishes and implements server and client security. Installs and maintains server network operating system.Trouble shoots equipment problems and work with users on help desk calls. Monitor system operations and perform required backups.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree in computer science and two years of related technical and business experience. Two years of related technical and business experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. OR Post high school coursework in computer science and three years of related technical and business experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of network planning, design and evaluation. Education or experience working with PC's and AS 400 preferred. Skill in developing and implementing solutions to problems and operations analysis.Ability to communicate information and apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers and ability to follow multiple step instructions.Must be able to lift, push or carry objects up to 50 pounds.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
