The Statewide Network Coordinator position works within the state public safety program and is responsible for the administration of the statewide land mobile radio system used by local, state and federal agencies. The primary duties include authorizing system access for all user agencies and managing the life cycle processes associated with the system hardware and software.
Examples of Work:
The position supports system user discussion topics, meets with and presents to user groups, analyzes system use patterns, conducts technical troubleshooting of hardware and software, develops and implements training for users, dispatchers and technicians, and establishes system guidelines and standards. The position is largely responsible for the continual oversight and optimization of the system and its use by all agencies. Responsibilities will also include the administration of the system database, subscriber programming, console configuration planning, implementing life cycle planning and system updates, and coordinating interoperability planning with diverse public safety disciplines.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Associate''s or other similar two year technical degree in computer engineering/science, communications/electronic equipment, or related discipline of studyAND three to five yearsof work experience strategic work planning, and conducting the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of equipment and components of a large communications network in addition to performing the analysis of network/electronics equipment and preparing related technical recommendations; three additional years of applicable work experience can be substituted for a degree.
PREFERRED: Candidates that have at least 5 years of experience with land mobile radio systems, including a significant amount of experience and responsibility working in a digital trunked radio system environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The candidate will have the skills and aptitude to use highly technical analysis tools and work with vendor engineers and other technical personnel on complex technical subject matter.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
