Examples of Work:
Research and locate existing survey marks. Do reconnaissance for and set new marks for Global Positioning System (GPS) surveys. Operate instruments used in geodetic surveys such as levels, electronic total stations and GPS receivers. Download survey data into computers and check field notes for accuracy. Set control for aerial photography by locating survey marks and targets accurately on the ground. Perform conventional and RTK surveys to obtain existing alignment of highways and railroads. Do topography, profile, x-sections, hydraulic and utility surveys. Coordinate and perform surveys with other divisions, districts, cities, counties, utilities and public entities. Convert between horizontal and vertical datums using CORPSCON and VERTCON programs. Check field data to assure the survey meets closure specifications.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver''s license.
PREFERRED: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in civil surveying or in global position system practices.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
