Position Purpose
:
The Director of User Experience is primarily responsible for expanding the user experience practice within the Bank Solutions division to bring the voice of the user to product management and development processes. This includes effecting change to mature the UX practice, continuing implementation of the user-centered design methodology-user research, UI design, and user validation-and managing a team of user experience professionals.
Secondarily, the Director of User Experience for Bank Solutions will collaborate with his/her user experience peers in other business divisions and with other Fiserv leadership to advance common user experience practices across the enterprise.
Essential Job Responsibilities
:
o Provide strategic leadership to advance the user experience practice within the Bank solutions division
o Continually improve processes of product planning and software development to incorporate user-centered design
o Partner with product and business leaders to ensure product user experiences satisfy business, client and user objectives
o Build up talent, tools and resources so that each product area is supported in defining and executing on its product user experience strategy
o Lead and manage the team of Bank Solutions user experience practitioners
o Distribute resource assignments to priority products and initiatives in order to support Bank Solutions and enterprise strategic goals
o Counsel individuals on their professional development by providing educational opportunities, assisting with goals, providing assignments that capitalize on their skills and interests and by performing regular performance reviews
o Establish and manage a yearly budget for the Bank Solutions user experience practice
o Cultivate relationships across the company with peers and other leadership to promote an enterprise approach to user experience
o Remain up-to-date with industry standards, best practices, and innovative technologies (banking and user experience)

Required
Qualifications:
Education
:
o Bachelors degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Industrial Design, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or related area is preferred. Experience as a director of user experience can be substituted
Job Related Experience
:
o 5 or more years experience in contextual inquiry or ethnographic research, information architecture, user interface design, usability testing, human factors and other related disciplines, preferably within a corporate environment
o 5 or more years experience leading and managing user experience practitioners
Travel Required
:
o Some travel is required.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Experience developing a budget
o Strategic thinking and analysis capability
o Knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle
o Ability to collaborate effectively both in person and remotely with leadership, direct reports, designers, product managers, engineers, clients and end-users, and to build good working relationships
o Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint
Additional Skills/Knowledge
:
o Understanding of banking or financial data processing
o Experience in phone and tablet user research and user interface design
o Familiarity with remote, un-moderating testing tools such as UserZoom
o Familiarity with prototyping tools such as Axure
o Familiarity with enterprise data sharing tools such as SharePoint
