We are looking for individuals to join our join our team as Unemployment Insurance (UI) Adjudicators.

; Monday - Friday Examples of Work Analyze benefit claims to obtain the necessary information to write legal formal determinations of benefit eligibility.
Process appeals from claimants and employers, explain procedures, assist in completion of appeals, complete necessary documents, and data entry of transactions.
Testify on behalf of Commissioner of Labor as necessary in Unemployment Insurance Appeal Hearings.
Investigate and establish over payments of benefits to claimants to ensure that unauthorized benefits are not paid and to comply with legal requirements relative to payment of unemployment insurance benefits.
Answer verbal and written inquiries from claimants, employers, and other agencies to explain legal requirements and procedures pertinent to the Unemployment Insurance program and general information.
Interview claimants to determine continued eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits.
Identify barriers, verify work search, and refer to reemployment services through One Stop offices.
Retrieve, review and update claimant and employer information utilizing computer database inquiries and computer data entry skills.
Collect, validate, and assemble completed claims and submit for imaging and archival storage.
As directed by supervisor, file initial, additional and extended unemployment insurance benefits by telephone.
As directed, adhere to State, Department of Labor and UI Division policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Post high school coursework/training in social/behavioral sciences, public or business administration, accounting or related field; OR experience in personnel, unemployment insurance, employment services, insurance, accounting or human services with responsibility for employment interviewing, referral or placement, credit investigation, analyzing and/or evaluating financial data and/or evaluating and determining eligibility for services and/or benefits.
PREFERRED:
Experience adjudicating unemployment insurance claims; experience using current benefit payment system in NEworks.
Proficient computer and typing skills are necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of:
Nebraska Employment Security Law Skilled in:
Interviewing clients, employers or other parties of interest to collect essential information; basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry; organizing in high workload, high stress situations.
Ability to:
meet all timeliness and time lapse requirements according to Federal guidelines; effectively communicate via the telephone; maintain regular and reliable attendance.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
