Examples of Work Under limited supervision, the Health Information Management (HIM) Office Services Manager is responsible to plan, organize, direct, and supervise a combination of HIM office support services, staff, and operations for the Lincoln Regional Center.
oThe HIM Office Services Manager supervises 12 HIM Office Specialists to ensure the consistent application of HIM policies, procedures, and standards for appropriate teammate performance management to include promotions, disciplinary action, status changes, separations, and grievance dispositions.
oReviews medical records and department work performance against the established standards from The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Public Health Division, and other regulatory bodies as appropriate for ensured compliance.
oTrains staff in the policies, procedures, and practices to maintain and improve the production, compliance, and quality of teammates work and medical recordsoDevelops and creates systems, making recommendations for changes in policy, procedure, and standards to facilitates the effective maintenance of medical, clinical, and statistical records.
oImplements new or existing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with confidentiality laws and regulations.
oResponsible for Release of Information of medical records compliance, processing, and billing.
oResponsible for initiating and tracking Provider Peer Review process.
oResponsible for conducting and facilitating insurance authorizations and reviews.
oResponsible to review and approve HIM supply orders.
oResponsible for tracking department inventory of computers, cell phones, scanners, copiers, and other equipment.
Qualifications / Requirements REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in office administrative functions, bookkeeping, and secretarial work including experience leading other clerical, secretarial or technical support staff.
PREFERRED:
Some College/Associates or Bachelors Degree.
Two years of medical office experience.
Staff supervisory experience.
Experience with AVATAR, The Joint Commission, and CMS.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the principles of management and human relations; the methods, procedures, and equipment of office operations and administrative functions; the methods and procedures of training; business arithmetic; the procedures and processes of bookkeeping and record keeping.
Skilled in the use of computer software to word process, prepare correspondence, and track information.
Ability to plan, organize, control, and direct office service units in technical support activities.
Communicate effectively, retrieve and exchange information, identify and prioritize problems, and formulate possible solutions.
Supervise and coordinate the work of others while establishing positive working relationships with others.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
