Quality Assistant (Rail)

Essential Functions Follow all company Policies and Procedures, Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), Kawasaki Production System (KPS) and any other legal and compliance regulations that may apply such as OSHA.
Provide general administrative support to the Quality department.
Assist in implementation and flow of departmental procedures.
Compile and prepare documents and reports pertaining to the Quality department.
Process, record and maintain data including such information as work instructions, first article submissions, engine and part returns, sort and rework sheets, Assembly changeover sheets and Engineering changes.
Communicate with internal and external parties to answer questions, disseminate or explain information.
May update and maintain the Quality Management System document and data control system (such as ISO9001, AS9100, etc.
) under the direction of the Management Representatives.
Qualifications for the Quality Assistant:

Confidentiality - The behavior of not disclosing proprietary or personal employee information to any sources within the organization or outside the organization.
Detailed-Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
Gather and Report Information - Compiling, tabulating or verifying information for document control.
Language Skills - Must be able to speak and understand English.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively one-on-one, or to groups, as necessary.
Multi-tasking - Able to handle multiple tasks and competing demands; sets priorities and ensures all issues are addressed while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
Quality Management System - Knowledge and application of the Quality Management System requirements (such as ISO9001, AS9100, etc.
) for document control.
SKILLS & ABILITIESEducation/ExperienceHS Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) with one year of clerical experience in a position related field.
Computer SkillsDisplay appropriate proficiency with computers and computer applications, including:
spreadsheets (e.

, Excel), word processing (e.

Word), presentation software (e.

, PowerPoint), databases (e.
g.
, Access, contact management software), internet/intranet (e.

, browsers, search engines), special applications (e.
