59 PM CentralDescription The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a talented Internal Communications Specialist to join the Office of Communications (OCOM) team.
The Internal Communications Specialist will provide advanced, professional graphic design services, produce high-end visual, textual, and animated content for a variety of platforms (print publications, web pages, social media, etc.
) and ensure the brand identity standards of the Department are met.
Additionally, they will work to maintain the DHHS Forms website and coordinate orders with the State Print Shop.
The Internal Communications Specialist will meet with stakeholders to determine the project scope develop artwork based on internal client needs and specifications to provide creative and high-quality engaging materials.
Conduct research on media techniques and design ideas.
Develop multimedia content ideas.
Projects will include booklets, brochures, flyers, ad campaigns, banners, invitations, programs, and templates such as PowerPoint, social media, web design print, digital and animated content and more.

oAssist in coordinating internal communications efforts for DHHSoDevelop, implement, and measure effectiveness of communication strategiesoUnder minimal direction, coordinate and execute communications projects and activities targeted to internal publics and complete projects in a timely fashionoBuild strong relationships across agency to tap into interesting newsworthy items; use survey results, team feedback and data analysis to measure outcomes and course correct as neededoDevelop and edit communications content that is impactful and engaging in partnership with various departments/divisions, while also working closely with the communications team to ensure content is presented and delivered effectivelyoDraft and maintain content on the intranet and InternetoDevelop communications templates and tools for employee communicationsoAssist in creating presentations for various audiencesoMaintain and build relationships with stakeholdersoCollaborate closely with the communications team on cross-divisional and cross-functional communications needsoProvide support for internal communication on various platformsoStay abreast of best practices and developing trends in internal communicationsoThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
Other duties may be assigned as required Qualifications / Requirements REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in coordinating, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities and/or public information programs.
Required experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field and 2 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
Understanding of employee engagement practices a plus.
Proven capacity to manage or support multiple projects; agility and flexibility on just-in-time issues and work assignmentsoProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and InDesign softwareoStrong knowledge of variety of writing styles, specifically Associated Press (AP) styleoExcellent written and oral communication skills, including proofingoSkill in critical thinking and analysis Knowledge, Skills and Abilities oProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and InDesign softwareoStrong knowledge of variety of writing styles, specifically Associated Press (AP) styleoExcellent written and oral communication skills, including proofingoSkill in critical thinking and analysisAble to:
