Supervision of lab technicians and assistants, manage day to day activities and ensure employees perform assigned tasks in a timely manner Direct involvement with hiring process for new personnel within the respective group and in some cases may be considered the hiring manager Assist with training of new staff to manage laboratory workload and performance.
Maintains an advanced knowledge of genotyping analysis including identification of quality issues or when troubleshooting is required.
Maintains an advanced knowledge of data analysis and quality control measures associated with various sequencing platforms, ensuring data is delivered in a timely manner.
Manages and maintains an accurate and usable inventory of all sequencing supplies, reagents and chips.
Proficiency in designing and providing input to the laboratory technicians as they perform their daily tasks.
Gains an understanding of the customer needs from the Product Manager to manage daily workload and delivery of data.
Maintain the ability to operate all electronic and robotic equipment essential to sequencing analysis.
This includes all hand held electronic repeaters, multichannel pipettes along with the Eppendorf and Beckman Liquid handling robots.
Qualifications:
Previous Supervisory experience Trouble shooting skills Lab Experience is a plus Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
