29 an hour Job Description Summary Are you passionate about making a difference in our communities? The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services has an immediate opening to support the Unit Administrator in Public Health Promotion and Prevention.
As Assistant to the Unit Administrator, you will provide backup to programs within the Unit that include the Offices of Oral Health & Dentistry, Rural Health, Emergency Health Systems, and the Nebraska Developmental Disabilities Council.

Job Duties Oversee the Stem Cell Research Advisory Committee grant process and reporting.
Make web page content updates for programs.
Assist in reviewing grant applications.
Run monthly reports of program expenditures to monitor budgets.
Review financial requests for reimbursement.
Make computer access and office space arrangements for new staff.
Create requisitions for commodities and equipment purchases.
Meeting scheduling and making travel arrangements.
Process payments and Oversee Records Management functions.
Qualifications and Requirements REQUIREMENTS:
Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
PREFERRED:
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.
Experience working with financials including budget reviews and tracking expenditures.
Experience working in teams and assisting others.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Have organizational skills, adaptability in work tasks, and aptitude to learn new software applications.
Skill in:
attention to details; active listening; asking questions; understanding instructions; using word processing; creating spreadsheets, and reports; managing time, schedules, and priorities; and good interpersonal interactions.
