Vancer is looking to add a Service Writer to the team.
The Service Writer acts as the first-line, direct point of contact to internal and external customers by answering calls, scheduling and coordinating all service work and parts order entry for machine repairs, and completing related work orders and paperwork.
This job is crucial to creating and fostering a trusting relationship with the customer, thereby promoting retention and loyalty.
Essential & Primary Job Duties:
Opens, processes and closes service repair quotes and work orders utilizing standard jobs for all incoming repairs by obtaining accurate details from customers as to nature of problem.
Secures service manager approval, if needed.
Verifies warranty and service contract coverage.
Informs customers of any needed services, recalls, DOT inspections due on equipment.
Ensures orders are accurate, supportable and match invoices.
Identifies add-on sales opportunities and effectively communicates these to customer.
Converts quote to work order or closes as appropriate.
Coordinates research and orders parts as needed.
Obtains or issues internal purchase orders from customers when necessary.
Works with other CAT dealers service when machines are out of territory and schedules for the customer.
Schedules equipment repairs on work orders by dispatching workflow to field technicians by assessing skills, capabilities, areas of expertise and work availability schedules to minimize customer downtime and maximize field vs.
shop time for field technicians or utilizing other CAT dealers.
Provides exceptional customer service to ensure high customer satisfaction by keeping customer abreast of work being done and projected timeframe for completion in a timely manner.
Communicates to internal and external customers in a timely manner regarding status of quote.
Follows-up with customer after repairs have been completed to maintain rapport.
Researches, develops, implements and optimizes Vision link program and predictive maintenance strategies.
Ensures process of monitoring parameters of condition in machinery is such that a significant change is indicative of a developing failure.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
