Examples of Work:
Be responsible for the issuance of overweight and over dimensional permits utilizing a Nebraska Department of Roads internal web based automated permit system. Assist customers in utilization of the Department''s automated permit system. Assist customers over the phone who are using the internet web based system to obtain their permits. Assist customers with the issuance of their permits utilizing the NDOR permit system in a timely manner. Be responsible for reviewing state statutes and Department of Roads rules and regulations so permits are issued within the statutes and rules. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in analyzing customer inquiries or issues, applying criteria/regulations, and determining solutions or fees required OR Post high school coursework or training in processing personal transportation or commercial carrier permits, licenses, or similar authorizations.
PREFER: Extensive experience with computer program customer support by phone. Work experience involving map reading. Extensive PC experience. Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
OTHER: Must be reliable and dependable to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and work overtime hours as needed. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the state highway system and/or commercial trucking industry. Ability to work with, follow and understand Nebraska State Statutes and Nebraska Department of Roads rules and regulations concerning movement of overweight and over dimensional vehicles. Ability to work well under pressure and have good interpersonal skills and be able to deal professionally with the public. The ability to comprehend written regulations.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
