## Description
The Lincoln Journal Star is looking for a Statehouse Reporter to join our team of reporters that tells the stories of state government and the people it affects.
In addition to covering the state's unique unicameral Legislature, this person will report on state departments and elected and appointed officials from the state's capital.
We want an energetic reporter with solid reporting skills, someone who writes clearly and who strives to own his or her beat. Candidates should be excited about the future of our rapidly changing industry, possess digital reporting skills and an understanding of the importance of reaching and appealing to a growing online audience.
In addition to excellent communication skills and the personality to work well as part of a team, the reporter should be a self-starter with creativity, ambition and a strong work ethic. At least three to five years of reporting experience is preferred.
Lincoln is a growing capital city, and the Journal Star is in the middle of the action. We're just blocks from a new 15,000-seat arena and a burgeoning entertainment district with bars, restaurants and music venues. Lincoln has strong K-12 schools, a Big Ten university and cultural and recreational options.
