Summary
Processes and reconciles Retirement Security (RS) pension payments and life insurance claims in accordance with processing standards while ensuring the timeliness of payments at the highest quality level. Handles requests for the RS pension plan and reviews them for accuracy and also handles requests for plan benefit projections. Works closely with the Actuarial department on more complex retirement benefit calculations, projections, and payments and manually produces documents and payment information for participants of merged plans. Responds to customer telephone inquiries and resolves service issues. Reports to: Manager, Retirement Plan Distributions (RS) Job Level: C114 Starting Salary: $42,900 up to $54,600 (based on qualifications and related work experience). Will consider starting the candidate at a developmental job level for 12-months at the longest if qualifications and experience merit it. Work Hours: will be monthly rotating shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and 8:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

This position helps to fulfill the required customer service and processing goals of the Retirement Plan Distribution department and works with cooperative members and benefit administrators from across the country over the telephone and through email to resolve issues and respond to questions.
Requirements and Qualifications
Educational Requirements: 1. Preferred: Bachelor's degree 2. Lowest level of education: High School diploma and at least 18-months of equivalent work related experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Minimum of 4-years of pension work experience with defined retirement plans or defined contribution plans. 2. Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and/or other professional certification or coursework desired. 3. Experience using the OMNI/plus system, preferred. 4. Strong mathematical/financial aptitude 5. Analytical skills 6. Experience using MS Office applications with a high degree of proficiency. Physical Requirements: 1. Repetitive motion of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers using a keyboard and grasping a computer mouse. 2. Able to operate a multiple line telephone.
